Objectives:
Recognizing the importance of standard metric definitions for benchmarking and other purposes, the Best Practices Committee has been charged with the identification and development of standard definitions for common Maintenance and Reliability Metrics. This committee has published SMRP Maintenance and Reliability Metrics, the SMRP Compendium of Maintenance and the Reliability Metrics and the Global Maintenance and Reliability Indicators via the SMRP Library. Ongoing task for this committee are to:

  • Maintaining the current metrics published
  • Identifying and developing additional metrics needed in the M&R Community
  • Defining and developing “Best Practice” values to be associated with the use of the metrics published

  • Harmonized 29 of these metrics with European Federation of National Maintenance Societies (EFNMS)
  • Published SMRP Best Practice Metrics (a compendium)
  • Published Global Maintenance & Reliability Indicators (GMARI)
  • Published SMRP Guide to Maintenance Work Sampling

Note: Metrics and other Publications are available in the LIBRARY OF KNOWLEDGE and align with the 5 Pillars of Knowledge:
