COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS:
Body of Knowledge Goal:
Best Practices Committee - The SMRP Best Practices Committee is working toward achieving the goal of having the SMRP become the provider of choice for M&R knowledge by developing maintenance and reliability metrics utilizing common terminology and standardized M&R terms and definitions. The Best Practices Committee is part of the Define the Body of Knowledge Goal.
Benchmarking Committee - The SMRP Benchmarking Committee drives the benchmarking paradigm forward to the benefit of the M&R community by developing tools, such as benchmarking surveys, evaluations, on-line resources and road maps, to help our members achieve performance goals. The Benchmarking Committee is part of the Define the Body of Knowledge Goal.
M&R
Body of Knowledge Committee - researches
and identifies the skills and knowledge of the maintenance
and reliability profession to provide a trusted professional
development reference for individuals and organizations.
That reference, A Guide to the Maintenance and Reliability
Body of Knowledge is the basis for Certified Maintenance
and Reliability Professional (CMRP) examination question
specifications and future SMRP examinations and standards.
Certify/Set Standards Goal:
SMRPCO
- The Society for Maintenance and Reliability
Professionals Certifying Organization (SMRPCO) is organized
for fostering high standards of ethical and professional
practice in the delivery of services through a recognized,
credible credentialing program that assures the competency
of practitioners of the Profession. Volunteers
are crucial to furthering the mission of SMRPCO.
Any CMRP wishing to participate can become involved in
a variety of areas, including question writing, marketing,
proctoring exams, and much more.
Standards
Committee - The SMRP Standards
Committee serves the SMRP membership and M&R community
at large by surveying existing standards, mapping them
to the SMRP body of knowledge and organizing them in a
searchable database for our community, by assessing the
body of existing standards to identify content gaps relative
to the SMRP Body of Knowledge, and, where applicable,
by working with other committees to create ANSI accredited
SMRP standards.
Educate Goal:
Academic Liaison Committee - The Academic Liaison Committee is promoting and educating the academic world of the opportunities and needs of our membership to develop and execute curriculum targeted at grooming maintenance and reliability professionals as an area of focus in our colleges, universities, and technical schools. The Academic Liaison Committee is part of the Educate Goal.
Conference Committee - The Conference committee organizes the premier annual reliability event in the industry. This is the event where practitioners come to learn from practitioners, to benchmark, and to network. This committee selects everything from the entertainment to the theme to insure the best experience possible. The Conference Committee is part of the Educate Goal.
Executive
Meetings and Workshop Committee - The Executive
Meetings and Workshop Committee identifies and schedules
locations where attendees can visit world class practitioners
within their facilities to learn how other practitioners
are advancing the cause of maintenance and reliability.
This committee also creates a workshop schedule where
attendees are exposed to the very best educational materials
for practitioners that the industry has to offer. The
Executive Meetings and Workshop Committee
is part of the Educate Goal.
Executive Summit Committee - The Executive Summit Committee is creating a new SMRP offering designed for the senior leadership of your company with the hopes of providing a forum for the exchange of reliability information that is pertinent to your corporate leaders. This committee will schedule and locate senior leadership event on a yearly basis. The Executive Summit Committee is part of the Educate Goal.
Scholarship Committee - The scholarship committee is promoting SMRP and Reliability through the gift of an annual scholarship. This committee sets up the process for receiving a scholarship as well as the criteria and selection. The Scholarship Committee is part of the Educate Goal.
Improve Member Services Goal:
Chapter
Development Committee - Improves the
process to form a chapter, develops and recommends chapter
policies, identifies critical information to be communicated
to chapter leaders regularly, identifies subjects for
annual chapter leader training. This comittee meets yearly
at the SMRP annual conference to bring forward success
stories, struggles and concerns to the table and to meet
with the SMRP Board of Directors. Plan to meet as needed
up to 4 times a year by conference call.
Communications Committee
- is responsible for providing the most valuable, enriched,
and up to date information to the SMRP membership; as
well as working with all other working committees and
directorates in support of their communications needs
with members and potential members. The Communications
Committee consists of a Communications Chairperson, Associate
Chairperson, and various committee members.By specifically
focusing on communications channels such as the web site,
the Solutions Newsletter, direct mail, and electronic
mail the communications committee is effectively able
to meet the needs of the organization and membership alike.
Membership Committee
- The Membership Committee identifies target groups for
potential SMRP membership, helps develop membership recruitment
and retention programs, develops and recommends membership
policies, periodically reviews member trends and studies
of why companies join or terminate membership. The
membership Committee is part of the Improve Member Services
Goal.
Industry
Partner Relations Committee - This committee
actively recruits new supplier members and communicates
with existing supplier members to get ideas on how SMRP
Membership can add more value to their business. Committee
also works in conjunction with the conference committee
to address exhibitors (Industry Partner Members) questions
and concerns and to recruit existing supplier members
to exhibit at the conference, and communicates sponsorship
opportunities at the conference to supplier members.
Officers Goal:
Marketing Committee
- This committee is charged with enhancing all
Society programs, services, communicationsand products
with targeted, measurable, and effective strategies. This
commitee collaborates with all other SMRP committees and
directorates to learn their annual strategic goals and
to advise on the most strategic supporting marketing plans.
Diversity Committee
- The Diversity Committee members are charged with continously
understanding the issues of diversity and examining diversity
best practices to continuously review our policies, practices
and culture for member inclusiveness, and our recruitment/retention
programs. We work cooperatively with the other SMRP Committees
to develop and implement initiatives that effectively
serve our organization and its members by striving to
develop an inclusive environment so that our membership
reflects the communities we serve. If you would like to
