Have questions about any of our exams? We've answered the top questions below. If you don't find the answer you need, contact the certification department at email@example.com.
How do I sign up for an exam?
You must apply and pay for the CMRP and CMRT exams online.
Where can I take an exam?
You may take the exam at a computer-based testing center.
How long is the exam?
The CMRP is 110 multiple choice questions, and examinees have 2.5 hours to complete the exam. The CMRT is 175 multiple choice questions, and examinees have 3 hours to complete the exam. The CAMA exam is 2 hours and is approximately 110 questions.
How do I prepare for the exam?
The CMRP exam is designed to gauge competence in a number of areas related to maintenance and and reliability. The exam’s focus is on applied knowledge; therefore, the study of references alone is unlikely to ensure success on the exam. To help candidates prepare, we have developed the CMRP Roadmap.
How do I study for the exam?
While SMRP does not publish a CMRP or CMRT exam study guide, it does provide several helpful study resources.
We also recommend the Candidate Guide for Certification and Recertification for the CMRP and CMRT exams. These guides are designed to familiarize candidates with the five pillars of the SMRP Body of Knowledge as they pertain to the specific exams and offer several practice questions for each. Access them below.
How long will I have to wait to get my results?
SMRPCO aims to provide exam results promptly. Computer-based CMRP or CMRT exam results are uploaded by the 15th of the next month, but examinees will know whether or not they have passed upon completing the exam. To ensure your results are uploaded properly, please be sure to enter your contact information correctly when registering.
May I retake the exam if I had an unsuccessful attempt?
Examinees must wait at least six months before reapplying to take any of the exams. You will be required to pay the application fee for each additional exam.
How long does my certification last?
The CMRP, CMRT and CAMA certifications are active for three years. Certified individuals must recertify every three years to maintain their certification.
