Supporting Students & SMRP Member Families
SMRP values the importance of higher education and therefore strives to create opportunities for students in maintenance, reliability, engineering and other degree concentrations by providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships for qualified individuals. To meet this goal, the SMRP Board of Directors has authorized five (5) scholarships to be awarded for the 2017-2018 academic year.
Scholarship applicants are judged on the basis of grade point average, work experience, extra-curricular activities, leadership activities and merit. Recipients will receive scholarship money via deposit at the Financial Aid Office of their university for the use of purchasing books and supplies, covering lab fees and tuition expenses. Please see below for a list of all scholarship opportunities.
SMRP Legacy of Excellence Scholarship
The SMRP Legacy of Excellence scholarship is the highest scholarship to be awarded in SMRP's history. One student will be awarded this $10,000 USD scholarship for demonstrating a commitment to the highest level of excellence in their studies, work and extracurricular activities. The application is available to rising juniors and seniors in a four-year maintenance-, reliability- or engineering-focused program as well as to students in graduate studies.
SMRP Scholarship & SMRPCO Dorothy and Jack Nicholas Scholarship
In an effort to support maintenance and reliability students, the SMRP Board of Directors has authorized two (2) $2,000 USD scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year. Faculty are encouraged to make this application available to rising juniors and seniors in four-year maintenance- and reliability-focused programs as well as to students in the second year of a two-year maintenance program.
