SMRP Professional Certification Program
The Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) program is the #1 credentialing program for certifying the knowledge, skills and experience of M&R professionals. It's more than just committing textbooks to memory; it's a thorough examination of individual expertise measured against a universal standard.
Every facility needs at least one CMRP on its team- and most should have more. They have the knowledge and skills to ensure efficiency and productivity on site- from technical skills and streamlined processes to performance management and managerial confidence.

Re-Certification Requirements
To maintain their certification, all CMRP's must participate in 50 hours of relevant skill development and training over the 3-year re-certification period. This can be achieved by participating in any combination of items from the list of approved activities. Applicants must show participation, and provide hours for a minimum of 2 areas from the list of approved activities. Complete and return a re-certification form by the anniversary date of your CMRP certification along with the re-certification fee of $275 for non-SMRP members which includes a one year SMRP membership, $150 for SMRP members, or $100 if you are an employee of a Sustaining Sponsor company. No other documentation need be submitted with the form, but should be retained in case your submission is one of the one (1) percent randomly chosen for audit at time of submission.
In lieu of meeting this requirement, a CMRP may elect to re-take the exam for certification.

General Information for Veterans taking the exam
The CMRP Program is approved for reimbursement to eligible veterans and their dependents for the cost of the certification examination. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will reimburse the cost of the test only, not any of the other fees connected with the certification process. As an added benefit we are offering the CMRP exam to all eligible veterans for our discounted rate of $250. We hope this will ease your initial cost burden as you await reimbursement from the government. Simply indicate you are G.I. eligible on the CMRP exam application to qualify for this discounted rate.
For more details on eligibility requirements and reimbursement procedures, visit the VA web site at www.gibill.va.gov or call 1-888-GIBILL. The CMRP exam has been assigned Facility Code 46-0049-46 which is to be used on all correspondence and VA forms used to submit claims.
There is a tremendous and growing need within the maintenance and reliability field to develop a well-trained talent pool. For young men and women who have served our nation proudly and are returning home seeking a unique opportunity to re-enter the workforce, achieving the CMRP credential can provide a tremendous jump-start to a career in the M&R community.
Veterans, Take advantage of this opportunity -- You've earned it!
