Identifying and eliminating waste
in daily work
Identify, demonstrate and decrease waste in your Maintenance
system through Value-Stream Mapping (VSM), a Lean visualization
tool which helps understand and streamline work processes
by applying Lean tools to your maintenance system.
Beyond commonly found “workflow mapping” where
workflow decisions and policies are mapped, VSM is a process
which depicts ACTUAL events, cycle times and flow,
providing the information to identify and eliminate waste,
evolving into a Future-State model.
By Identifying the 7 types of waste which
consumes your valuable maintenance resources (average productivity
30%), you can begin applying the optimum corrective action
to drive the 2 sources of waste from your system.
• Learn the role of Value Stream Mapping for Maintenance
in the overall reliability process
• Identifying the different "product families"
of maintenance, each having its own value stream
• Identifying the 2 sources of waste or loss
o Steps that add no value and can be removed immediately
o Steps that add no value, but are required based on our
current operating model
• What you can do now
• Leverage VSM into planning & scheduling optimization
Audience:
Our workshops literally pertain to all levels in an organization;
from the craftsperson to the plant manager to the president.
Experience:
For 34 years LAI has been showing companies of all sizes
in countries all around the world how to improve their Maintenance
and Reliability programs.
We have had articles published in most of our industries
major publications such as Maintenance Technology and Uptime
Magazine.
In 2009 LAI was the company chosen to hold the inaugural
workshop for the newly formed Chicagoland chapter of the
SMRP.
